Handlebar J and The 알바 Herndon Brothers were both inducted into the Arizona Music & Entertainment Hall of Fame way back in 2006. Roadhouse Honky Tonks does not get much more authentic than this remote East Valley dive, the realization of a Hollywood location-scouts dream for a perfect country-and-western bar. Handlebar J has stuck with its old-school country roots, and has always honored Valley honky tonk history, so much so the bar introduced the return of Back to Mr. Luckys Night (in memory of Arizonas greatest all-time honky tonk, the late Mr. Luckys) with the granddaddy of all Arizona country-and-western singers, the late J. David Sloan.

The Green Mill is another excellent alternative for live music, and it is got a Malort Shot at when the clock strikes 2 am. Jazz acts perform late into the night in this storied bar & venue. With live music seven days a week, including psychbilly rodeo band, The Rusty Spur is an awesome spot to start or finish off the evening, along with cowboys, bikers, twentysomethings, and tourists. The corner of Division and State Streets is a great spot to end up if you are looking for a late-night drinking spot.

Well, the neighborhood has some bars opening up earlier than this that are more than happy to oblige. Meanwhile, Night Shifts core bars are every seventh day of the week, 4pm-2am. As for Night Shift, it is moving on, and Chef Danny Leals is serving as the General Manager.

Night Shift opened in quiet fashion at 3501 Harrisburg early this month, right off of light rails Great East End Line. With Mel Ardelean working several jobs, Sharon Ardelean was responsible for running the bar. Sharon Ardelean worked seven days a week, seven nights, and the bar was open 8 am until 2 am. Even when someone else covered the early-morning shift, Ardeleans sleep was only around two to three hours each night.

Because this was a bar once open just once a month, for Bicycle Week, getting patrons into the Cuzzins was harder than Sharon Ardelean anticipated. Cudahys heritage as a third gearer, coming from such local plants as Ladish and Patrick Cudahy, meant many early-riser bars used to line the streets.

Chicagos limited taprooms, which run until 4 am each weekday (5 am Saturday), were a frequent hangout for night owls, service workers, and other characters you never encounter during daylight hours. In addition to its 4 a.m. permit, The Store offers live music, open mics, comedy shows, and more entertainment during the week. The bars are competitors, with a family feel coming from three bars located only one block from one another. The community has expressed its support of the bar even on the final days.
