Most full-time jobs available in working camp revolve around working in private campgrounds, volunteering for national, forest service, US Army Corps of Engineers, state, county, and municipal campgrounds. Generally, the majority of camp manager positions are considered to be volunteer positions, usually located in the National, State, County, and Municipal campgrounds. Campground Hosts States, local, regional, and national parks, as well as many private campgrounds, are looking for camp hosts.

Lake George RV Park is looking for employees who are proud of their work, are flexible, and want to help us keep our fabulous reputation and status as an award-winning RV campground and park. This team member works at the Camper Cafe at Lake George RV Park, located in our East Recreation Building. Our year-round Resort Maintenance Technicians are on call 3-6 days a week October-March, and 6-7 days a week April-November, including any weekends, on a daytime shift only.
The job involves medium-heavy labor, all types of weather, 8am-5pm, each day of the week, including weekends. Positions require a minimum thirty hours per week for each person. Positions may require working holidays, weekends, and irregular or rotating shifts.
An Amazon job would probably pay more, as well as requiring 40 hours of work a week or more. Most of these positions require working a minimum of 20-25 hours a week, and come with a free camping site that includes most or all utilities. Some jobs with RVing pay real cash wages, typically no more than $15 an hour, but almost all provide free or discounted camping in exchange for your labor. Workampers are paid hourly wages, but they stay at the campgrounds at discounted per-night campground fees, typically $4/night.
Some work-camp sites charge a small fee to join and view the jobs available. Many jobs at work camps are filled between six months to one year prior to starting. Jobs like Amazons CamperForce provide seasonal jobs in Amazon facilities at busy times. A busy camper park hiring couples will typically let one person work on the exterior while the other works on the interior.
Candy Hill Campground typically recruits working RVers either as couples or individuals, and they are all somewhat different terms. In general, Candy Hill Campground will provide you with a campground that is made up of a pad for your RV, equipped with water, electrical, and sewer hookups. It is important to keep upkeep to avoid creating problems for employees. Members of work camper families are allowed to come visit and use all of the parks facilities, often without a fee, if approved by Candy Hills general manager. Wireless Internet is also available, service can be set up directly with a vendor. Work duties will be assigned according to the abilities and preferences of each camper worker, along with Candy Hills campground needs.
Some larger campground associations and concessions manage their own sites for working campers, including KOA and Delaware North, a major concessionaire in Yellowstone and elsewhere around the world. Campground employee positions include general maintenance, housekeeping, office workers, groundskeeping, cooking or serving at food services, security, event manager, store employee, filling propane tanks, gates and member sales. Must have the skills to work safely on power equipment to perform maintenance. Responsibilities include working in a cleaning crew of two persons sanitizing the public bathroom areas and showers across the Lake George RV Park. We are using Campground Masters, or you must be able to use computers, as well as doing housekeeping.
We are working 10 hours per week as a couple on our own sites, getting paid the rest of the hours. We are looking for a couple, or solo hosts, who have their RV, to live here five days a week, and work six hours per day. Working at a camping store or another retail business may be part of the work.
You may want to have the couples who worked on your camp out, or an employer who will give you good reviews to get the next job. You also will find parks may be looking for replacements for people that have left or have not worked out.
